Supported Device Table for DFM 1.2 and DFM 1.2 Updated for Common Services Version 2.2
Revised: November 1, 2004
The following tables list the devices supported by Device Fault Manager (DFM) 1.2 and DFM 1.2 Updated for Common Services Version 2.2.
Note
For a list of devices that were added between the releases of DFM 1.2 and DFM 1.2 Updated for Common Services Version 2.2, see the Release Notes for Device Fault Manager 1.2 Updated for Common Services Version 2.2, located on Cisco.com, by selecting Products and Services > Network Management CiscoWorks > CiscoWorks Device Fault Manager > Technical Documentation > Release Notes.

The incremental device update (IDU) packages for all of these devices are installed when you install Device Fault Manager 1.2. New versions of incremental device update packages may be available at www.cisco.com. To see a list of all packages installed on your CiscoWorks2000 server, select Server Configuration > About the Server > Applications and Versions.
Keep these points in mind when you view the device support table:
•
For details of DFM behavior on specific devices, see Appendix D, "Device-Specific Information," in the User Guide for Device Fault Manager, available from online help.
•
The devices listed in Tables 1 through 15 may be categorized differently in the DFM display.
•
This list contains the Cisco model names of all devices that are supported by DFM 1.2. Variants to the generic device (device model names that have unique extensions) are not supported unless they are specifically listed. For example, DFM 1.2 supports the Cisco 7500 series router model 7513, but not model 7513mx unless the latest DFM 1.2 IDU is installed. The device support tables provide SysObjectIDs to help you verify which devices are supported.
•
Other devices (not listed in these tables) may appear in your DFM GUI but with incomplete information. This occurs when DFM polls its inventory and discovers the devices, but the devices do not have the "Certified" or "Validated" level of certification. (For more information on levels of certification, see the User Guide for Device Fault Manager, available from online help.)
•
DFM does not support switch clusters. A switch cluster is a group of switches comprised of a master switch and slave switches. This relationship allows NMSs to query the master switch for information about the slave switches.
Note
The 7600 OSR has been removed because the oid2type.conf file contained the wrong OID for this device.
Note
The 7160 has been removed because it was being supported although it had not shipped.

1 "Partial DFM support" indicates DFM will manage the device but may not report all device attributes because (1) the device operating system does not support one or more of the MIBs polled by DFM, and/or (2) the device MIB contains information that is not correctly populated.
2 DFM supports these devices only if the latest DFM 1.2 IDU is installed. (To download this support, log into Cisco.com and point your browser to: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-dfm.)

3 On the Catalyst 4503 and 4506, DFM supports the Supervisor Engine I and II running the CatOS operating system, and the Supervisor Engine III and IV running the IOS operating system.
4 On the Catalyst 4507, DFM supports the Supervisor Engine IV running the IOS operating system.
5 On the Catalyst 4006, DFM supports the Supervisor Engine III and IV running the IOS operating system.

1 DFM will also classify Windows servers and domain controllers as Media Servers. Refer to Footnote 2.
2 DFM supports these applications only if the latest DFM 1.2 IDU is installed. (To download this support, log into Cisco.com and point your browser to: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-dfm.) Windows Servers and Domain Controllers are classified as Media Servers if (1) CDP is enabled on them, OR (2) the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB attribute hrSWInstalledName is populated with the string Unity. (The latter indicates that it is a Unity Server, which DFM displays as a Media Server in the Host class.)
