Using LMS Setup Center

LMS Setup Center is part of CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution bundle. LMS Setup Center is a centralized area that displays the LMS System configurations.

LMS Setup Center allows you to configure the necessary server settings, immediately after installing LMS Software. You can configure the System Settings, Security Settings, Data Collection Settings, Data Collection Schedule and Data Purge Schedule of all applications in LMS Bundle.

Note If an application is not installed, the corresponding entries will not be available in LMS Setup Center.

This chapter contains the following sections:

Categories in LMS Setup Center

The configurations in LMS Setup Center are grouped into the following categories:

System Settings — Configurations that the system needs to function. For example, Backup Schedule and SMTP Server

Security Settings — Security related settings for the product. For example, Single Sign On and Authentication Mode

Data Collection Settings — Settings to collect data from the devices. For example, SNMP Timeout and Seed Devices.

Data Collection Schedule — Schedule settings for collecting the data from the server. For example: CM Data Collection Schedule and Inventory Polling Schedule.

Data Purge Schedule — Configurations that are necessary for the device to purge data. For example: Syslog Purge and Number Of Configurations To Keep

The settings specific to all applications including Common Services, Resource Manager Essentials, Campus Manager and Device Fault Manager are grouped within these five categories. This enables you to configure them in a common space.

If an application is not installed, the corresponding entries will not be available.

Launching LMS Setup Center

The LMS Setup Center is part of the LMS Bundle.
