The CWM Automated Bulk Provisioning (ABP) is an optional tool to the Cisco WAN Manager (CW1M) system. ABP provides provisioning based on time of day and frequency for ATM and frame relay (FR) networks.

Permanent virtual circuit (PVC) provisioning can be managed as tasks to be completed at a specified time and repeated one time (optional), daily, or weekly. You can manage this system through a job management server and client interface.

Only ATM and FR are supported PVC types.

Features

ABP provides these features and capabilities:

•Schedule Provisioning—Enables you to set up jobs for adding, deleting, and modifying connections. You can specify the date and time of when the job is to be started.

•Bulk Provisioning—Supports scheduling a large number of connections by submitting a single bulk file which contains the details of all the connections, and their local and remote end parameters.

•Schedule Bandwidth—Enables you to set up bandwidth modification jobs.

•Administration—Enables you to manage jobs and obtain information on jobs that are submitted into the ABP system. Old jobs can also be cancelled.

System Requirements

Automated bulk provisioning requires the same system requirements as the CWM does. See the CWM release notes or installation guide for these requirements.

Supported Hardware

For information about the hardware that ABP supports, see the CWM release notes.

Installation Instructions

This section describes how to install ABP. Before you begin the installation, you should have the following information available:

•The directory where ABP is going to be installed (default /opt).

•The directory where Perl is installed. At the command prompt, you can issue a "which perl" command to find where it is installed:

–It must be installed on the server before you can install ABP.

–It is installed by default on Solaris 9.

•The IP address of the machine where ABP will be installed.

Use this procedure to install ABP.

Step 1 Log in as root.

Step 2 Insert the Automated Bulk Provisioning software CD into the CD drive.

Step 3 Enter the following commands:

# cd /cdrom/cdrom0

# ls 

Step 4 Check for the InstallABP.sh file. Begin the install process by entering the following command:

#./ InstallABP.sh 

Step 5 The Welcome window appears. Click Next.

Step 6 Specify the directory where you want to install ABP (default is /opt). Click Next.

Step 7 Enter the IP address of the machine where you are installing ABP. Click Next.

Step 8 Enter the directory where Perl is installed, such as /usr/bin/perl. Click Next.

Step 9 The Summary window appears. Click Next. The installation begins.

Step 10 When the installation is complete, click Finish.

Caveats

Table 1 lists the known issues in the ABP 15.4.00 software.

Bug ID	Description	Details and Workaround
CSCeh00253	The ++ button does not work properly.	The ++ button above the tree view does not work because a large performance hit occurs when you click the ++ button. The workaround is to navigate through the tree.
CSCin89421	The port number is inconsistent between ABP and the CWM Configuration Center GUIs.	The port numbers of service modules MPSM-8T1-FRM and FRSM-8E1 are not the same between ABP and the CWM Configuration Center GUIs. ABP is designed to support and show only the l_port and the provision connections on the l_port. The Configuration Center also displays the logical_port. The workaround is to use the l_port for connection provisioning.
