Verifying the Integrity of the CTM Installation ISO Image

This appendix describes how to verify that the CTM installation ISO image is not corrupt.

Note The validity of the checksum does not guarantee the integrity of the ISO image. However, if the checksum is invalid, the ISO image is definitely corrupt.

Step 1 Copy the CTM ISO image to the local disk. The disk partition must have at least 2 gigabytes (GB) of disk space to store the CTM ISO image.

Step 2 Depending on your workstation type, complete one of the following substeps to generate the SHA-1 checksum:

a. On a Solaris server, enter the following command for the ISO image:

digest -a sha1 ISO-filename

b. On a Windows PC, use a tool such as the Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier (FCIV) utility to generate the checksum for the ISO image.

For example, if you are using the FCIV utility, enter:

fciv.exe -sha1 ISO-filename

Note The FCIV utility is available on the Microsoft website at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290. This website is © 2010 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

Step 3 In the command output, verify that the checksum matches the value shown in the following table.
