Documentation Errata
The following information is missing from the "Viewing Memory Utilization Information" help topic:
•
Total memory is calculated as the sum of the processor memory and I/O memory.
•
Processor memory is the OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB.processorRam MIB object value.
•
I/O memory is calculated as follows:
–
CISCO-MEMORY-POOL-MIB.ciscoMemoryPoolUsed + the CISCO-MEMORY_POOL-MIB.ciscoMemoryPoolFree value of the I/O pool.
•
Used memory is calculated by subtracting free memory from total memory. Free memory is calculated by adding the CISCO-MEMORY-POOL-MIB.ciscoMemoryPoolFree values of the processor and the I/O pool.

Cisco Monitor Manager does not start and displays errors
|
Cisco Monitor Manager does not start after a successful installation or when it is launched from Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), and the following error messages appear:
Couldn't create Java Virtual Machine
and
Error occurred during initialization
To work around the problem, modify the JVM_MAXIMUM_HEAP value in the startup.properties file, located in the <Cisco Monitor Manager/ installation directory>\startup directory. You must set a value that is less than 1024m, for example, 256m, 512m, or 786m.
If you continue to see these errors after modifying the value, continue to decrease the value until the application starts.
Note Decreasing the JVM_MAXIMUM_HEAP value might decrease the application's performance.

Network topology map display problems
|
After discovery is completed, devices are sometimes arranged in the right corners of the Cisco Monitor Manager network topology map. Because Cisco Monitor Director receives topology information from Cisco Monitor Manager, topology maps in Cisco Monitor Director do not display all of the devices.
To work around the problem, when the discovery is complete, click the Automatic Layout button in the Cisco Monitor Manager network topology map to rearrange the topology. This condenses the devices in the map, and Cisco Monitor Director can display all devices in its topology maps.
