Installing the BBSM SDK

This section describes how to install the SDK onto your BBSM server.

Note You must first install the Microsoft development environment before installing the BBSM SDK.

Caution Although you can install the Microsoft development environment on a deployable BBSM server, make sure that your server is offline before you start development. Be sure to remove the development environment before you bring the server back online.

Step 1 Log on to the software download website for BBSM: www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/bbsm.

Step 2 From the Select a File to Download menu, select BBSM5.1SDK.zip. A software download website appears, giving details of the software that you selected.

Step 3 Click BBSM5.1SDK.zip and save the file to a temporary folder on your hard drive.

Step 4 Navigate to this folder and select all of the files you just saved. Extract them into a temporary folder.

Step 5 In this temporary folder, locate the Setup.exe file and run it.

Step 6 Follow the prompts to install the SDK software.

Step 7 Click Start > Run, and then click Browse.
