Support Information for Cisco IOS and Cisco IOX Traps

This chapter describes the Cisco IOS and Cisco IOX traps that are supported in Cisco ANA. Each trap is described in a section containing:

A table of all the traps, including the trap name, short description and so on. The short description of the trap is what appears in the ticket, in the V1 Trap and V2-V3 Trap tabs of Cisco ANA EventVision. The short description for each type and subtype can be viewed in the Registry Parameters for the Events section.

A table of all the subtype events which represent one of the states the alarm can be in, and a description of when they are issued. For example, the cisco bgp trap can have multiple subtype events (states), including "Cisco BGP FSM moved to a lower state", "Cisco BGP FSM state changed", and "Cisco BGP FSM established".

Information related to the correlation of the alarm (such as its severity, and whether it is ticketable and can be correlated).

Each section describes a group of traps sharing the same event type.

This chapter includes the following sections:

Cisco IOS V1 Traps

Cisco IOS V2 Traps

Cisco IOX V2 Traps

Registry Parameters for the Events

Note Cisco IOS devices, Cisco XR 12000 Series and the Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System must be configured to send traps in SNMP V2.

A configuration revision number error notification signifies that a device has incremented its vtpConfigRevNumberErrors counter. Generation of this notification is suppressed if the vtpNotificationsEnabled has the value "false". The device must throttle the generation of consecutive vtpConfigRevNumberError notifications so that there is at least a five-second gap between notification of this type.
