Software Support and Services
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing hardware equipment from Cisco Systems. We are confident that the performance and flexibility of these products will add real value to your network.
Included with your purchase is a current, licensed version of Cisco IOS XR software, the system software that serves as the "heart" of Cisco hardware solutions. Cisco IOS XR software controls an extensive range of devices and applications that help power today's most sophisticated networks, enabling millions of customers to manage Internet traffic across their mission-critical platforms. Cisco IOS XR software provides operational efficiency, helps minimize network maintenance and supports costs, helps improve network availability, and supports leading-edge IP and multiprotocol features, technologies, and standards.
Accompanying your purchase is a limited warranty, comprising both hardware and software components (please refer to your contract or warranty, or access http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/prod_warranties_listing.html, to see specific details). During the warranty period, Cisco will replace defective media and correct material deficiencies in the software, but for most products will not provide new releases of Cisco IOS XR software. To help ensure that you receive critical ongoing support for Cisco IOS XR software, including updated releases, we strongly recommend that you immediately purchase a Cisco service agreement for the enclosed device, if you have not done so already.
Cisco customers continually build upon their investments by improving network capabilities, often with no hardware upgrade required, simply by downloading new Cisco IOS XR software releases. For support and software updates within a licensed feature set, a choice of service agreements is available directly from Cisco or an authorized reseller of Cisco product.
Please contact your Cisco sales team or local reseller to discuss these Support and Services offerings, or for assistance with your networking needs. Cisco and its partners remain committed to your success.
Sincerely,
Karl Meulema, VP CA Services Marketing and Channels
