IPv4/IPv6 Voice Clipping Avoidance
In a distributed model, when RTP packets are sent immediately after a 200 OK response, voice clipping can occur because of a delayed response from the MGC or SIP server. The IPv4/IPv6 voice clipping avoidance feature prevents the media flow from being dropped or clipped.

Restrictions for IPv4/IPv6 Voice Clipping Avoidance
The following restrictions and limitations apply to IPv6 Voice Clipping Avoidance Support:
•
The local address of the designated latching side in the media flow cannot be shared by other flows.
•
Since the latching of an early media no-NAPT flow is a non-local address flow with no RSAM, it must be hashed without a remote mask.
Information About IPv4/IPv6 Voice Clipping Avoidance
To accomplish the IPv6 Voice Clipping Avoidance Support, the Media Packet Forwarder (MPF) performs latching on the designated latching side (which initially has an unknown remote address) to the first packet that arrives with the assigned local address. The MPF, then, transmits packets that arrive on assigned local address from the latched remote IP or port.
