Time Server Functionality


Feature Overview

This feature adds a time-of-day service to the cable headend system.

Benefits

Standalone cable headend systems can obtain the correct time of day from larger systems as part of an low-maintenance, background function.

Restrictions

Time server support is restricted to service over UDP.

cable time-server

cable time-server

To enable the time-of-day server, use the cable time-server global CONFIG command. Use the no form of this command to disable the time-of-day service function.

cable time-server [enable | disable]
no cable time-server

Syntax Description

enable

Starts the time-of-day server as a background task.

disable

Stops the time-of-day server.
