Completing a Network Installation
The IP/TV CD-ROM provides a network installation option so that you can install IP/TV Viewer at a network location for subsequent installation by other computers on the network.
Follow these steps to complete a network install for IP/TV Viewer:
Step 1
Boot the computer that will run IP/TV Viewer and start Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.
Step 2
Insert the IP/TV CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
If your CD-ROM drive is configured with Auto Insert Notification enabled, the IP/TV Master Setup window appears automatically.
If Auto Insert Notification is not enabled, click Start>Run and enter drive letter:\setup in the Run dialog box. After a moment, Setup displays the Master Setup window.
Step 3
Click Set up Net Install. A query message appears and asks whether you want to install IP/TV Viewer. Click Yes.
Step 4
On the Destination Directory Selection window a default directory location is listed. If you want to change the destination directory, click Browse. The Choose Directory window appears. (To use the default directory, click OK.)
Step 5
Enter the destination directory into which you want to install the Viewer application. Click OK. The network install program copies the application files into the directory you specified. When the network installation is complete, a message appears informing you that the Viewer files have been successfully copied.
Step 6
To start the Viewer install program from the new location, run setup.exe on the target machine.

Setting Up the Silent Install Option
The Silent Install option lets you control which installation options users can see or select while installing IP/TV Viewer. This feature lets you roll out the IP/TV Viewer efficiently and quickly. You can change the default installation settings and control which parts of the installation users can control.
Note
IP/TV Server and IP/TV Viewer installs the English version of Internet Explorer 5.0 as an option. If you are deploying IP/TV and would like to change the version of Internet Explorer installed by IP/TV, do so by replacing the Internet Explorer 5.0 installation image under the ie5 directory with your customized version (non-English version) of Internet Explorer. You can obtain the customized Internet Explorer installation image from the following Microsoft web site: http://ieak.microsoft.com.
