This appendix provides information about troubleshooting the boot process for the Cisco 11000 series CSS. For details about powering on and booting the specific CSS platform, including the various boot states and the Status LEDs, refer to Chapter 1, Booting, Logging In, and Getting Started.
During the CSS boot process, the SCM downloads software to the SFM or SFM2 and the I/O modules. If the boot process cannot locate the correct files, the CSS logs an error in the boot.log file. Refer to Chapter 8, Using the CSS Logging Features for information on boot.log.
Table C-1 provides suggestions for correcting problems that may occur during the boot process. If the suggestions in Table C-1 do not resolve your problem, contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
