CatOS と Cisco IOS システム ソフトウェアの違い

スーパーバイザで CatOS、MSFC で Cisco IOS が稼働（ハイブリッド モード）：

Catalyst 6500/6000 スイッチでスーパーバイザを稼働させるのに、CatOS のイメージをシステム ソフトウェアとして使用できます。オプションの Multilayer Switch Feature Card（MSFC）がインストールされている場合、MSFC を稼働させるには別の Cisco IOS イメージを使用します。

スーパーバイザと MSFC 両方で Cisco IOS が稼働（ネイティブ モード）：

Catalyst 6500/6000 スイッチでスーパーバイザと MSFC の両方を稼働させるには、1 つの Cisco IOS イメージをシステム ソフトウェアとして使用できます。

アップグレード前の手順

メモリおよびブート ROM 要件のチェック

新しいソフトウェア リリースに必要な最低の DRAM 容量、フラッシュ メモリ、およびブート ROM のバージョンを確認します。使用するスイッチが、その要件をサポートしているかを確認します。新しいソフトウェア イメージの要件を確認するには、『Catalyst 6000/6500 シリーズ スイッチのリリースノート』を参照してください。

注：Supervisor Engine 720 には、現在利用できるブート ROM のアップグレードはありません。



ソフトウェア イメージのダウンロード

実際にイメージをアップグレードする前に、TFTP サーバとして動作する PC に CatOS ソフトウェア イメージをダウンロードします。ソフトウェア イメージは、Cisco LAN スイッチング Software Center（登録ユーザ専用）からダウンロードできます。CatOS と Cisco IOS ソフトウェアについての詳細は、「CatOS と Cisco IOS システム ソフトウェアの違い」のセクションを参照してください。
一部ツールについては、ゲスト登録のお客様にはアクセスできない場合がありますことを、ご了承ください。



TFTP サーバのインストール

このドキュメントの出力例では、Microsoft(TM) Windows 2000 Professional が稼働する PC での Cisco TFTP サーバのインストールが使用されています。TFTP サーバはどのような種類のものでも使用可能で、インストールされているプラットフォームも問いません。必ずしも Windows OS を搭載した PC を使用する必要はありません。

  1. CatOS ソフトウェア イメージをスイッチにコピーする際に使用する PC に、インターネットから任意のシェアウェア TFTP ソフトウェアをダウンロードしてインストールします。TFTP サーバのルート ディレクトリと、ソフトウェア イメージのダウンロード先ディレクトリを一致させる必要があります。イメージを TFTP サーバのデフォルトのルート ディレクトリにダウンロードすることも、サーバのルート ディレクトリのパスをソフトウェア イメージのあるディレクトリに変更することもできます。Cisco TFTP サーバの場合、ルート ディレクトリの変更は View Menu > Options から行います。

    注：このドキュメントは、Cisco TFTP サーバが Software Center からダウンロード可能な時期に作成されたものです。Cisco は現在では Cisco TFTP サーバのサポートを行っていません。Cisco TFTP サーバを使用する場合は、過剰なログによって TFTP プロセスが中断されるのを防ぐため、ロギング機能をディセーブルにしてください。

    Cisco TFTP サーバのロギングをディセーブルにするには、次の手順を実行します。

    1. View Menu > Options の順に選択する。

    2. Enable Logging の選択を解除する。

    3. OK をクリックする。

    注：デフォルトでは、ロギングがイネーブルになっていることに注意してください。

  2. スイッチの Command-Line Interface（CLI; コマンドライン インターフェイス）にアクセスするため、スイッチ コンソール ポートと PC の間にコンソール ケーブルを接続します。HyperTerminal 経由で CLI にアクセスするには、『Catalyst スイッチのコンソール ポートに端末を接続する方法』を参照してください。

    注：リモートの Telnet アクセスを通じてスイッチをアップグレードできます。ただし、ソフトウェア アップグレード中にスイッチがリロードすると、Telnet 接続が失われます。スイッチが新しいイメージでロードするときに、Telnet セッションを再確立できます。しかし、エラー発生時にトラブルシューティングを行うには、ローカルのコンソール アクセスが必要です。Cisco は、コンソール アクセスによるスイッチのアップグレードを推奨します。



設定とソフトウェア イメージのバックアップ

スイッチの設定と現在のソフトウェア イメージを、TFTP サーバが稼働する PC にバックアップします。メモリが足りない、あるいはスイッチのブートフラッシュに新しいイメージをサポートするだけの領域がないなどの理由でアップグレード手順が失敗した場合は、スイッチに存在するイメージを使用して、いつでもスイッチを通常モードに復元できます。なんらかの理由でスイッチの設定が失われた場合は、TFTP サーバから設定を復元できます。コンフィギュレーション ファイルやソフトウェア イメージの管理方法についての詳細は、『Catalyst スイッチにおけるソフトウェア イメージの管理とコンフィギュレーション ファイルの操作』を参照してください。

Cisco IOS ソフトウェアが稼働する Catalyst 6000/6500 スイッチでは、copy startup-config tftp または copy startup-config bootflash: コマンドを発行して、設定を TFTP サーバまたはブートフラッシュにコピーやバックアップできます。設定を変更する場合は、必ず write memory コマンドを発行して、現在の設定をスタートアップ コンフィギュレーションにコピーしてから、バックアップを実行します。copy bootflash: tftp コマンドを発行して、現在のソフトウェア イメージをブートフラッシュから TFTP サーバへコピーできます。現在のソフトウェア イメージを外部のフラッシュカードから TFTP サーバにコピーする場合、Supervisor Engine 1 または 2 では copy slot0: tftp コマンドを使用できます。Supervisor Engine 720 では、copy disk0: tftp コマンドか copy disk1: tftp コマンドを使用します。

注：%% Non-volatile configuration memory invalid or not present エラー メッセージは、スイッチでコンフィギュレーション ファイルのコピーやバックアップ中に、スタートアップ コンフィギュレーション ファイルが空であることが検出されたことを示しています。このエラーを回避するには、コンフィギュレーション ファイルのバックアップを取る前に、write memory または copy run start コマンドを発行します。



CatOS ソフトウェアが稼働するスイッチ

スーパーバイザ モジュールの CatOS

Catalyst 6000/6500 スイッチの Supervisor Engine 1 および Supervisor Engine 2 では、PCMCIA フラッシュ カード用に 1 スロットがサポートされており、Supervisor Engine 720 では 2 スロットがサポートされています。スイッチに PCMCIA フラッシュ カードが取り付けられている場合は、新しいソフトウェア イメージをブートフラッシュにコピーするか、PCMCIA フラッシュ カードにコピーするかを選択できます。

この手順では、ブートフラッシュを使用します。PCMCIA フラッシュ カードを使用する場合は、下のすべてのコマンドの bootflash: という語を、Supervisor Engine 1 または 2 では slot0: に変更し、Supervisor Engine 720 では disk0: または disk1: に変更します。

  1. メモリおよびブート ROM 要件を確認し、PC に TFTP サーバがあることと、スイッチ コンソール ポートからスイッチ コンソールにアクセスできることを確認します。この設定の準備ができていない場合は、「メモリおよびブート ROM 要件の確認」のセクションを参照してください。

    注：Microsoft Windows OS が稼働する PC では、実際のサイズと異なるファイル サイズが表示されることがあります。ファイル名を右クリックして Properties を選択し、実際のファイル サイズをバイト数で確認してください。

Supervisor Engine 720

Supervisor Engine 720 で PCMCIA フラッシュ カードを使用する場合は、この手順に含まれるすべてのコマンドの bootflash: という文字を、disk0: または disk1: に変更します。

Cisco IOS ソフトウェアが稼働するスイッチ

  1. メモリおよびブート ROM 要件を確認し、PC に TFTP サーバがあることと、スイッチ コンソール ポートからスイッチ コンソールにアクセスできることを確認します。この設定の準備ができていない場合は、「メモリおよびブート ROM 要件の確認」のセクションを参照してください。

    注：TFTP の実装の多くは、16 MB 以上のファイルを転送できません。Cisco IOS ソフトウェア リリース 12.1(8a)E 以降では、Supervisor Engine II のシステム ソフトウェア イメージは 16 MB を超えています。16 MB 以上のファイルを転送するには、FTP または Remote Copy Protocol（RCP; リモート コピー プロトコル）を使用します。FTP または RCP の使用の手順については、『システム イメージとマイクロコードのロードと管理』を参照してください。次の手順では Cisco TFTP サーバを使用しており、イメージ転送中に問題は発生していません。

    メイン ソフトウェア イメージを slot0 に保存し、ブート ローダー イメージを MSFC ブートフラッシュに保存するのが最適な方法です。slot0 と MSFC ブートフラッシュに、TFTP サーバから新しいイメージをコピーできるだけの十分な領域があるかどうかを確認します。新しいイメージのサイズは、ダウンロードした PC 上で確認できます。Supervisor Engine 720 では slot0: ではなく disk0: および disk1: という用語を使用します。そのため、この例では使用するディスクに応じて slot0: という用語を disk0: または disk1: に置き換えます。

冗長スーパーバイザ モジュール使用時のソフトウェアのアップグレード

Catalyst 6000/6500 シリーズ スイッチでは障害耐性をサポートするために冗長スーパーバイザ エンジンを使用でき、プライマリ スーパーバイザ エンジンで障害が発生すると切り替えが行われます。冗長化をサポートするためには、冗長スーパーバイザ エンジンは同一タイプで、同じモデルのフィーチャ カードを搭載している必要があります。スーパーバイザ エンジンを 2 基インストールする場合、最初にオンラインになる側がアクティブ モジュールになります。2 基目のスーパーバイザ エンジンはスタンバイ モードになります。Simple Network Management Protocol（SNMP）、Command-Line Interface（CLI）コンソール、Telnet、Spanning Tree Protocol（STP）、Cisco Discovery Protocol（CDP）、および VLAN Trunk Protocol（VTP）などの管理機能とネットワーク管理機能は、アクティブ側のスーパーバイザ エンジンで処理されます。スタンバイ側のスーパーバイザ エンジンでは、コンソール ポートは非アクティブです。冗長スーパーバイザ エンジンはスワップ可能ではありません。冗長スーパーバイザ エンジンに切り替わった後も、システムは同じ設定で引き続き動作します。

冗長スーパーバイザ モジュールを搭載した Catalyst 6000/6500 シリーズ スイッチでは、通常のソフトウェア アップグレード手順は使用できません。リダンダント モードで Catalyst 6000/6500 シリーズ スイッチをアップグレードするには、『冗長スーパーバイザ エンジン装備の Catalyst 6000/6500 シリーズ スイッチでのソフトウェア イメージ アップグレード設定例』を参照してください。

Error = -21 および -45：ブートフラッシュがフル

このエラーは、CatOS スイッチでブートフラッシュにイメージをコピーしようとしているか、非互換フォーマットのブートフラッシュの領域を空けようとしている際に発生します。次のエラーはブートフラッシュが空であっても発生します。

  • Console> (enable) copy tftp flash
error = -21 
Can not open destination file bootflash:[x] (file system full), 
where 'x' is the image name.

  • Console> (enable) squeeze bootflash:
error = -45
Squeeze device bootflash failed (error reading squeeze log)

回避策は、ブートフラッシュをフォーマットしてから、操作を再試行することです。

ソフトウェア アップグレードの失敗/スイッチが ROMmon モードになる

ソフトウェア アップグレードが失敗する原因には、スイッチと TFTP サーバ間の IP 接続の問題、ブート変数の設定ミス、ソフトウェア イメージをスイッチにコピーする間の電源の不具合などが考えられます。これらの問題が原因で、スイッチが ROMmon モードでブートすることがあります。スイッチが ROMmon モードになっていて、ブートフラッシュまたは PCMCIA フラッシュ カードに有効なイメージが存在しない場合は、ソフトウェア回復手順を使用してスイッチを通常モードに回復できます。ソフトウェア回復手順については、次のドキュメントを参照してください。



既知の問題：ソフトウェアのダウングレードによるスイッチの設定の消失

CatOS が稼働するスイッチでソフトウェアのダウングレードを行うと、必ず設定が失われます。copy config tftp コマンドを発行して、設定を TFTP サーバにバックアップします。あるいは、copy config flash コマンドを発行して、設定をフラッシュ デバイスにバックアップします。

ダウングレードが正常に終了した後で設定を復元するには、copy tftp config または copy flash config コマンドを発行して、TFTP サーバまたはフラッシュ デバイスからコンフィギュレーション ファイルを取得します。

Invalid or Unknown device slot0 エラーの受信

TFTP から slot0 にイメージをコピーする際に、次のエラー メッセージが受信されます。

Invalid or Unknown device slot0
Failed to copy from tftp to slot0:

フラッシュのファイル システムのフォーマットを試行中に、次のようなエラー メッセージが表示される場合があります。

SW1 (enable) format slot0:

All sectors will be erased, proceed (y/n) [n]? y
Enter volume id (up to 31 characters): test
error = -85
Format device slot0 failed (cannot find flash algorithm)

これらのエラー メッセージは、デバイスでフラッシュ システムの slot0: が使用できないことを示しています。フラッシュ デバイスは、スーパーバイザ エンジンとフラッシュ システムのサイズにより、異なった名前で参照されます。フラッシュ メモリのサイズが 20MB よりも大きい場合は、slot ではなく disk と見なされます。

デバイスで使用可能なファイル システムのリストを見るために show file system コマンドを使用し、適切なフラッシュ デバイス名で copy あるいは format コマンドを発行します。



device does not contain a valid magic number エラーの受信

アップグレード後や変換中に Cisco Catalyst 6500 シリーズ スイッチがリロードされると、「device does not contain a valid magic number」エラー メッセージが Cisco Catalyst 6500 シリーズ スイッチに表示されます。

このエラー メッセージが表示されると、スイッチでは Cisco IOS ソフトウェア イメージのロードが失敗します。この問題は、CPU による Cisco IOS ソフトウェア イメージのロードの試行元である、デバイス上の破損したファイル システムが原因で発生します。

また、dir disk0: コマンドまたは dir slot0: コマンドを入力すると、フォーマットされていないフラッシュ PC カードでは「bad device block info」エラー メッセージまたは「invalid magic number」エラー メッセージが返されます。

この問題を解決するには、次の手順を実行します。

  1. ROM モニタ（ROMmon）モードに移行する。

  2. ブートフラッシュを使用して、手動でイメージをブートする。

  3. slot0 のイメージのサイズが TFTP サーバからダウンロードされたイメージのサイズと同じであるかどうかを確認する。

  4. イメージのサイズが同じ場合、slot0 または disk0 で format を実行し、copy コマンドを使用して TFTP サーバから新しいイメージをダウンロードします。

    注：単一のコマンドで複数のファイルをコピーすることはできません。

  5. イメージが TFTP から slot 0 に直接ダウンロードされたのか、あるいは ATA カードにダウンロードされ、そこから slot 0 にコピーされたかのかどうかを確認します。イメージが ATA カードに直接ダウンロードされている場合は、TFTP サーバからイメージをダウンロードする前に ATA カードをフォーマットします。
