Chris Dedicoats organisation consists of 21 countries comprising the European Markets Region and the largest revenue earning region for Cisco outside the US.
Dedicoat has responsibility for tailoring Ciscos products and solutions to the needs of customers in some of its most established markets, where technology-driven innovation is a key differentiator and an essential economic driver.
Supported by a team of more than 5,000 people, Dedicoat has overall leadership for sales, marketing, business development and systems engineering. He is also responsible for Ciscos investment in strategic alliances and acquisitions throughout the region.
Dedicoat joined Cisco in 1995 as Sales Manager of the UKs Enterprise Finance business and has since held a number of senior positions within the company, including Vice President and Managing Director of Ciscos UK & Ireland operation. In this position he forged key relationships with the UK Government and was a trusted advisor on their e-commerce strategy. In 2000 he took on responsibility for Ciscos Enterprise and SMB business in EMEA before moving into his current position in 2004.
Previously, he held senior management roles at other leading companies including Motorola, where he was Sales Director of the Telco line of business and Customer Services Director.
He is a frequent speaker at industry and government events and is a regular commentator in the print and broadcast media on topical IT, telecoms networking and Internet issues affecting private and public sector organisations. In 2006 he was appointed to head the EU Task-Force on ICT Sector Competitiveness a European Commission initiative which aims to strengthen Europes ICT Sector.
Dedicoat holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Central England for his outstanding contribution to the field of engineering.
He lives in the UK with his family and his interests include flying and supporting his local Football Club, Aston Villa.
