Overview

Cisco at EMC World

Join Cisco at EMC World, May 2 – 5, at The Venetian in Las Vegas.

EMC World is the premiere technology forum to help IT professionals modernize, automate, and transform. Be prepared to not only modernize your data center, but also transform your IT and your business outcomes.

Cisco is a Diamond Sponsor at EMC World 2016. When you visit us at the show, you will learn how your data center is everywhere and how our customers rely on Cisco intelligent servers and networks to be competitive. Discover how Cisco is providing customers world-class solutions in their environments and why we are the center of their digital transformation.

Taking advantage of big data requires processing massive amounts of information and quickly delivering answers under fluctuating workloads. As your data stores increase in size, your big data solutions must perform, scale, and be resilient without sacrificing management and operation efficiency.

Cisco UCS integrates industry–standard, Intel Xeon processor-based servers with networking and storage access into a unified system. Server, networking, storage, and intelligent management resources work together in a self-aware and self-integrating system. This design delivers greater computing density and network simplicity in a smaller footprint that reduces operating costs for big data applications.

The Cisco UCS integrated infrastructure for big data extends the strengths of Cisco UCS by offering computing and network scalability, performance, management, and monitoring that yield essential operation simplification, modularity, risk reduction, and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

Come visit us in our booth and be entered to win great giveaways.

To meet these needs, Cisco and EMC are working together to deliver unmatched application performance with Cisco Nexus networking and EMC ScaleIO Software Defined Storage.

UCS Session

Cisco UCS/EMC Storage Integration, Technologies, and Topologies

Speaker: Craig Ashapa, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer, UCS Storage
Date/Time: Monday, May 2nd at 4:30 – 5:30 pm PT

This session details the storage-related technologies, integration, and best practices within the Cisco UCS family of products. Topics include third-generation Cisco UCS hardware and software, storage profiles, C-Series rack solutions, M-Series composable infrastructure, and integration with EMC software-defined storage products, including vVNX, ScaleIO, and IsilonSD Edge. A live demonstration of Cisco UCS storage profiles will be performed.

ACI Session

CliQr: A Path to Digitization in a Hybrid Cloud World

Speaker: Farid Jiandani, Senior Product Manager
Date/Time: Wednesday, May 4th at 1:30 – 2:30 pm PT

Managing and securing applications across on-premises, private, and public cloud environments are proving difficult, and customers are asking for fast access to business-critical data. Existing trends such as SDDC and SDN can help, but they are focused on infrastructure and not applications. Learn how the integration of CliQr into Cisco's DC portfolio enables customers to embrace hybrid cloud while driving new opportunities.

MDS Session

Modernize Your Datacenter with Flexible and Scalable Storage Networks

Speaker: Mark Allen, Senior Manager Technical Marketing Engineering
Date/Time: Monday, May 2nd at 1:30 – 2:30 pm PT

Trends of flash, big data, and hyperconvergence are requiring storage network evolution. This session will address these trends, discussing networking challenges facing today's storage administrator. The network is central to supporting workload evolution for multiple protocols, including Fibre Channel, IP, Ethernet, and other storage network technologies. Cisco's storage networking solutions enable customers delivering mission-critical storage today and in the future.

Demos

Demonstrations

At EMC World, we will be demonstrating the following technologies:

Cisco UCS Director Demo

Learn how Cisco UCS Director improves consistency, efficiency, and speed by replacing time-consuming manual provisioning and deprovisioning of data center resources with automated workflows. Cisco UCS Director reduces application delivery time from weeks to minutes across Cisco UCS servers, Cisco Nexus switches, and third-party compute and storage. In addition, this demonstration conveys the unique benefits that Cisco UCS Manager and Cisco UCS Central provide to one or more Cisco UCS managed compute domains. These domains can be located in the data center or geographically dispersed around the world, covering thousands of virtual machines.

ACI Demo

OpenStack still requires a complex process to translate application requirements into fully-configured infrastructure fabric. In this demo, we'll show how to quickly deploy and govern sophisticated, multi-tenant applications using Group-Based Policy and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure. 2: Final update to the theater schedule:

Cisco UCS Big Data Demo

This interactive demo showcases simplified Layer 2 network extension for Big Data Cluster from private to public clouds while maintaining network and security policies. Get expanded Big Data Applications to burst to cloud to cater to additional compute/storage demand or separate Hot and Cold data queries between on-premise and cloud.

MDS Demo

This Cisco multiprotocol demo showcases the many different ways that Cisco MDS and storage networking solutions can work across your network, connecting your storage network for both today and the future capability and protocols of your network. In addition, we are showcasing our new Cisco MDS 9718 Multilayer Director, which is 32G enabled and ready to handle your core workloads. Finally, we will be showcasing our new 16G fabric switches.

3D Virtual Display Highlighting VBLOCK (Kaon) Demo

Cisco marketers will be on hand to showcase a variety of Cisco and Intel data center product innovations with a unique 3D interactive display technology. This demonstration also enables a more comprehensive view into the architectural considerations for solutions, including enterprise applications, cloud, and big data.

For in-depth conversations with Cisco executives or subject matter experts, a meeting room will be available during exhibit hours. To schedule a meeting, contact your Cisco account representative.
