Breakout Sessions

CIO Confidential: Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is an issue for all industries from financial services, to healthcare, to manufacturing and public sector. In this session, we call on the CIO of a large construction company. And even though he is building bridges and oilrigs, his challenges, risks and rewards cross all industries. He wants to manage the business down to the nuts-and-bolts level—literally. Thanks to mobile and big data technologies, the company is on a mission to track every weld, rivet, and turn of a screw so that it can manage the profitability of hundreds of projects across the globe on a daily basis. The CIO shares how the company is applying digital business principles to transform the way it works. He also shares some challenges. In this deep-dive, interactive brainstorming session, you collaborate with the CIO and our facilitator to work through some of these challenges, from rolling out new technology to figuring out how the company can speed the pace of its digitization efforts. And with all this digitization comes an awful lot of data. See how he is managing, analyzing and utilizing all this great data to the company's benefit.
