Andrew Hobby is the Asia Pacific & Japan lead for Systems Engineering at Cisco, where he is responsible for pre-sales engineering and architecture teams supporting partners and customers across the diverse and rapidly growing region of the world. Andrew is focused on developing Cisco and Partner architectural and technical expertise while ensuring this is aligned to the needs of customers, partners and sales teams across the region.

Andrew has 24 years experience in the Communications and IT industry, including 11 years at Cisco in a variety of sales, engineering and leadership roles. Prior to Cisco, Andrew worked in the systems & network integration industry, IT consulting and the public healthcare sector.

Andrew lives in Singapore with his wife and daughter. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Monash University in Melbourne Australia.

Cancellation Policy

Charges will be levied for any cancellation made after May 30, 2016. In the event that you fail to arrive at the hotel or cancel the booking after May 30, 2016, a cancellation charge equivalent to the entire stay of the room will be charged to your credit card. No refund or replacement is permitted.

 

Check-in Time: 15:00 hrs
Early check-in requests are charged at a full day of prevailing rates and subject to availability.

Check-out Time: 12:00 hrs
Late check-out till 18:00 hrs can be arranged at fifty percent (50%) off the negotiated rates (THB 2,000nett per night), subject to availability. To arrange for late check-out after 18:00 hrs, the hotel will charge at a full day of prevailing rates and subject to availability.

Q: Are substitutions allowed?

A: No, substitutions are not allowed. Cisco APJ Security Connection 2016 is an invitation-only event. A substitute has to be submitted for consideration through your Cisco partner development manager. If approved, a personal invitation will be sent to the substitute instructing him or her to register for the event.

Q: May I register on behalf of another person?

A: No, registration on behalf of another person is not allowed.

Q: Do I need to wear my badge during the entire conference?

A: Yes, badges must be worn during the entire event, including meal functions and evening social activities, so that you can be readily identified as an attendee of the conference.

Q: May I bring a guest? What functions are guests allowed to attend?

A: Unfortunately spouses of guests are not permitted to attend any sessions, social events, or meal functions.

Q: What should I wear to the Cisco APJ Security Connection 2016?

A: Business casual attire is appropriate for event sessions. For evening activities, casual attire is appropriate.

Q: What language is spoken?

A: The official language of the conference is English, and all sessions will be presented in English.

Q: Will wireless be available at the event?

A: Yes, wireless connectivity will be available during the conference.

 

Travel

Q: Do I have to pay for my own travel and accommodation?

A: Yes, you have to pay for your own travel and accommodation expenses.

Q: What are the passport/visa requirements?

A: Your local travel agency should be able to advise you on the need for visa requirements. You may also click here to find out if your passport requires a visa. Do note that the application for Visa on Arrival (VOA) is for the purpose of tourism only and the application fee is THB 1,000. Cisco employees can access the Visa Letter Service to generate your Visa letters. Q: Will airport transfer be provided?

A: Attendees are recommended to schedule their arrival flights into Phuket International Airport on Tuesday, June 14, 4.30pm for the Welcome Reception that will begin at 6:30pm.

All attendees should schedule departure flights on Thursday, June 16, after 4:00pm, to allow ample time for check out and transportation to the airport.

Airport transfers will be provided for all attendees. Arrival airport transfer will be provided on June 13 & 14 and departure transfers on June 16 & 17. In order for us to arrange your airport transfers, please be sure to update your flight details through our online registration system by 20 May 2016.

Q: What types of transportation are available from the airport to the Angsana Laguna Phuket, and how much does it cost?

A: Taxi services are available at the airport. A one-way taxi fare between Phuket International Airport (HKT) and Angsana Laguna Phuket costs approximately THB 900 (USD 25).

Q: How long does it take to get to/from the airport?

A: It takes around 30 minutes by car between the airport and Angsana Laguna Phuket.
