Dear all,

Datacraft and Cisco in India are pleased to introduce a joint Unified Communications business campaign. This will be a fresh route to help you achieve your business goals for this year.

Unified Communications – the business imperative

Today's organizations must contend with increasingly complex communications environments that feature a wide array of communications methods. Employees, business partners, and customers communicate with one another through infinite combinations of phones, voice messaging, e-mail, fax, mobile clients, and rich-media conferencing. Too often, however, these tools are not used as effectively as they could be. The result is information overload and misdirected communications that delay decisions, slow down processes, and reduce productivity.

Cisco’s IP telephony and IP communications have evolved into Unified Communications solutions. These new breed of solutions offers benefits that are greater than ever. Instead of simply connecting products, unified communications applications provide structure and intelligence that helps organizations integrate their communications more closely with business processes. This ensures that the information reaches recipients quickly, through the most appropriate medium.

The below schematic provides the solution components within the Cisco’s Unified Communications portfolio.

Market opportunity

Indian market today offers a unique opportunity for Unified Communication solutions. The high growth market coupled with the favorable regulatory changes has created a platform for you and Cisco to jointly capture this opportunity.

Frost and Sullivan in its study have projected a Unified Communication business opportunity in India will grow to 887M USD from 300M USD today – at 19% CAGR. One of the key growth drivers will be UC applications growing at 34% CAGR and with 30% attach application rate.

New TRAI regulation

The new TRAI regulation in the telephony space allows logical partitioning of a physically single EPABX for co-termination of both PSTN and leased lines for Enterprises and OSPs (Other Service Providers). This enables the customers to have a single communication infrastructure catering to the PSTN and CUG communication requirements with logical partition. This regulation will obviate the need of customers procuring two sets of communication equipments viz. Call Manager, IP Phones and LAN infrastructure – and thereby reducing the capital and operational expenses considerably.

Our engagement and next steps

Datacraft India and Cisco India have mutually identified UC as one of the key investment areas as part of our growth strategy for this year. As per the recently concluded UC business planning workshop – a firm business plan has been formulated that covers the revenue targets, key markets, technologies and resources.s.

One of the key initiatives of the plan is to have a structured enablement process for the Datacraft Sales and Presales teams. UC skill enhancement and demo readiness were identified as prime deliverables.

Datacraft is investing on two UC labs at Mumbai and Bangalore to demonstrate the advanced UC solutions like – IP Telephony, Video Telephony, Conferencing and collaboration and Voice messaging. These labs will be fully operational in early Jan 07.

A dedicated half day training program for Sales and Presales has been organized for the Datacraft sales teams as per the schedule given below. We urge all the Datacraft Sales and Presales for 100% participation.
