Cisco won the prestigious eRAJASTHAN 2009 award under Digital Learning - Private Sector Initiative of the year (public choice). The event was organized by CSDMS (www.csdms.in) and eGov ( www.egovonline.net) the most reputed IT media group of the country. The event was supported by Department of IT, Government of India, National eGovernance plan, Govt. of India, and IGNOU , India.
The day long conference and award ceremony was held in Jaipur, Rajasthan on 18th Dec 2009 with participation from all big names in the field of IT from the Private and Government side. Cisco , GeSCI , Microsoft , Educate Girls Globally (FEGG) , Enigma Digital Concepts ( EDC) , were there from the Private sector while from Government side Department of IT , Govt. of Rajasthan , National Informatics Centre , Rajasthan , Software Technology park of India ( STPI) and Department of Technical Education attended the same. I was also invited as a speaker in one of the panel discussion on "Integrated Use of ICT in Education Pedagogy: The Blended Learning Approach".
The Cisco Networking Academy program in Rajasthan was nominated under the Digital Learning - Best Private Sector Initiative category. There were 4 more nomination under the same category - Microsoft, Rajasthan Knowledge Corporation Limited - RKCL, Rajasthan (the baby project of Chief Minister of Rajasthan) besides the other two. The criteria were Jury award and Public Choice award (open Online Voting). The competition was very tough and a total of more than 2500 votes were cast. Cisco won the Public Choice award and the award was given away by the MD and Director of Department of IT, Govt of Rajasthan and Director, STPI Rajasthan.
