Cisco launches New Opportunity Incentive Program for all its channel partners
To leverage new commercial opportunities in the Indian Enterprise & SMB market
Mumbai, March 16, 2005 - Cisco, the global leader in networking for the Internet, today announced the launch of Opportunity Incentive Program (OIP) for its channel partners. The program is designed to provide economic incentives to channel partners who actively identify, develop and close new business opportunities in the Indian Enterprise & SMB market.
The OIP was conceived with an overall objective of empowering channel partners to help expand theirs and consequently Cisco's market share in the Indian enterprise & SMB market. Additionally, the incentives provided, will help improve channel partner profit margins and cover any pre-sale investment costs. By encouraging channel partners to prospect the market for new commercial opportunities, the program differs from typical Channel Rewards Loyalty Schemes. The new program encourages channel partners to grow the market by adopting a more customer-focused strategy, rather than a product limited one.

The OIP rewards Cisco partners who develop new business opportunities with new Cisco customers. Furthermore, the deals are not restricted by a minimum size; as long as Cisco can identify the opportunity as new business brought in and helping to expand the market, the partner qualifies for the economic incentives. Thus, it will motivate our partners to focus on pre-sales & sales efforts in developing new opportunities for Cisco products"
