Data Center Unified Fabric Design Specialist

The Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric Design Specialist certification will be retired effective July 4, 2017. The last day to test for the 642-996 DCUFD and 642-997 DCUFI exams will be July 3, 2017. Those with a current certification will remain active until its unique expiration date. Candidates interested in pursuing a Data Center certification are encouraged to consider a CCNP Data Center Certification.

Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric Design Specialist is for data center professionals who want to design and implement convergence, network scale and virtualization-awareness within their data center network. The Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric Design Specialist is a design and implementation track that tests a candidate's knowledge and implementation skills of network topologies and architecture, routing protocols, traffic design and network virtualization. Unlike other data center general certifications, this program combines design and implementation knowledge of unified fabric architecture with security, high-availability and network virtualization in one program.

To earn this Cisco certification, you must pass the following exam(s):

642-996 DCUFD

Last day to test: July 3, 2017

This exam validates a candidate's knowledge of designing a Cisco data center unified fabric solution, including reference network topologies, routing protocols, traffic design concepts, storage and storage networking architectures, scalability, availability, and security and management architectures.

642-997 DCUFI

Last day to test: July 3, 2017

This exam tests and validates a candidate's knowledge of implementing Cisco data center unified fabric architecture including security, management, high availability, and virtualization in the network.

Complete one of the following recertification options every two years:

  • Re-take and pass all exams for each Specialist certification indicated on the specific certification page. Please note: this includes ALL exams whether refreshed or not.
  • Pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam

Achieving or recertifying CCDE or any CCIE automatically extends your active Specialist certification(s) up to the point of expiration of the last certification achieved.
