The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. For the purposes of this documentation set, bias-free is defined as language that does not imply discrimination based on age, disability, gender, racial identity, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and intersectionality. Exceptions may be present in the documentation due to language that is hardcoded in the user interfaces of the product software, language used based on RFP documentation, or language that is used by a referenced third-party product. The CMX analytics reporting provides a more regular, manager-oriented set of information through the provision of parameterized templates to measure various common trends and patterns that occur over time in the building.
This section describes the report templates provided and the parameters they take in order to tailor them to the building information required. This chapter contains the following sections:
The detected vs. connected devices report shows an overview of the number of devices that were connected to the network. This report shows those devices that were merely connected during a given time period for a particular zone.
See the Configuring Detected vs. Connected Devices on the Selected Zone for more information.
To configure the detected vs. connected devices report, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, choose Detected vs. Connected Devices.
The detected vs. connected devices report is displayed in the right pane. The report shows the probing and associated client counts in the selected zone.
The result of this report contains the following:
The device count and dwell times by day report compares the number of devices in different dwell time categories for the same time period across consecutive days for a particular zone. The dwell time ranges provided in this report template are:
See the Configuring Device Count and Dwell Times By Day for more information.
To configure device count and dwell times by day report, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, choose Device Count and Dwell Times By Day.
The device count and dwell times by day report shows the comparison of the time period across consecutive days for a particular zone.
The device count by time of day report compares the number of devices in several dwell time categories for a time period over a number of days.
See the Configuring Device Count by Time of Day for more information.
To configure device count by time of day report, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, choose Device Count by Time of Day.
The device count by time of day report is displayed in the right pane.
The device count by zone report shows device counts for all zones in a given building for a predefined set of time period on a given day. This report shows device passing through and those staying for a significant time within the particular zone.
See Configuring a Device Count by Zone section for more information.
To configure a device count by zone report, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, choose Device Count by Zone.
Step 3 Click Run Report to view a graph of devices that are passing through or staying within the zone. The difference between device passing through or staying is determined by the amount of dwell time the device spends in that zone (5 minutes is the current cutoff time between passing and staying devices).
The dwell times by time of day report shows for how the average dwell time changes over time in a given zone. The duration is measured every 15 minutes and the average is taken. This report excludes extremely short or long dwell time to give more balanced result.
See Configuring Dwell Times by Time of Day Report section for more information.
To generate a dwell times by time of day report, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, Choose Dwell Times by Time of Day.
Step 3 From the Date drop-down list, choose the start date.
Step 4 From the Time from drop-down list, choose the start time.
Step 5 From the Time to drop-down list, choose the end time.
Step 6 From the Zone drop-down list, choose the zone point.
The movement between zones report provides a breakdown of all zones at specific points as devices passes to and from the focus zone. This report gives the following information:
To configure movement between zones, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, choose Movement Between Zones.
The following parameters are displayed:
The movement between zones report is displayed in the right pane.
The visit frequency report generates a list of devices with the most number visits to the venue. The time spent in the venue is considered a single visit as long as the device does not go undetected for one hour. The report considers the same time window over consecutive days.
The result shows MAC address of the frequently seen devices in the building along with the frequency distribution of those devices.
See Configuring the Frequency of Visits for more information.
To configure the frequency of visits, follow these steps:
Step 1 Click the Reporting tab from the left pane.
Step 2 From the Select Report Type drop-down list, choose Visit Frequency.
The following parameters are displayed:
Step 3 Click Run Report. The following report is displayed in the right pane.
