Release and General Information

This section contains general information about Cisco Jabber IM for iPhone and the current release of the application.

Introduction

Cisco Jabber IM for iPhone provides instant messaging (IM) and presence information to the Apple iPhone. Now you can stay connected while you're mobile. Cisco Jabber IM for iPhone provides the following features:

  • Access your desktop Cisco Jabber contact list and take actions like:
    • Click to IM
    • Click to Call
    • Click to Email
    • Click to Text
  • Start or join an instant Cisco WebEx meeting from an IM conversation.
  • Search for colleagues in the corporate directory.
  • Maintain security using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption and connecting your iPhone directly to the Cisco IM infrastructure through Cisco Unified Presence or Cisco WebEx Messenger (formerly known as Cisco WebEx Connect).

If your organization uses single sign-on (SSO) through Cisco WebEx Messenger, you also have the following benefits:

  • Cisco Jabber IM for iPhone maps to your SSO configuration in the Cisco WebEx Messenger Administration Tool. This is the same functionality as the Cisco WebEx Connect desktop client.
  • Federated Single Sign On uses the mobile device browser to access your corporate identity management system (IDMS) page.

See the Cisco Jabber IM for iPhone documentation page for additional information about the configuration and use of the application.
