Upgrade Path: Virtualize at Release 8.0

This hardware is fully supported in Release 9.0. However, since a Refresh Upgrade is required and these systems use a software-based RAID configuration, use the “Virtualize at Release 8.0” Upgrade Path.

Upgrade Path: Virtualize at Release 8.0

This hardware is supported in Release 8.0 Bridge Mode. It is also supported in Release 9.0 Bridge Mode with an upgrade to a Dual-Layer (DL) DVD drive. If the server has been upgraded to a DL-DVD drive or a remote upgrade (FTP/SFTP) will be used, these servers can also use the “Direct to Release 9.0” Upgrade Path.

This hardware is supported in Release 9.0 Bridge Mode. This allows you to complete a migration to Release 9.0 prior to migrating to a virtual environment.

This hardware is not supported in Release 8.0 or later, which means that the transition to a virtual environment will require additional hardware that is supported in Release 8.0 or later. An alternative to adding hardware is to perform a fresh install on a virtual environment and manually migrate the cluster and data to the new virtualized UC environment.
