Signing In to the Conversation Pane

You must sign in to your conversation pane before you can place calls or start conference calls.

Before You Begin

To sign in to your conversation pane, you must have the following:


  • A Microsoft Office Communicator user account

  • A user account for the conversation pane

  • If your system has the secure softphone feature implemented, an authorization code for your softphone

If you do not have these items, contact your system administrator.


Procedure
Step 1   Enter your user ID in the User ID field.

The default value is your Microsoft Office Communicator username.

Step 2   Enter your password in the Password field.
Step 3   (Optional) Check Remember my details.
Step 4   Select Sign In.
Step 5   If your system has the secure softphone feature implemented, do the following:
  1. Enter your authorization code in the Enter authorization code field.
  2. Select Sign In.

Using the Remember My Details Option

Check this option if you want the conversation pane to remember your user ID and password the next time that you sign in to the conversation pane.

If you do not want to reenter your user ID and password when you sign in, you must also configure the conversation pane to sign in automatically.

Signing Out of the Conversation Pane

Procedure
Step 1   Select Shows the Menu button in the Microsoft Office Communicator title bar. in the Microsoft Office Communicator title bar.
Step 2   Select Tools > Sign Out of Conversation Pane.
