Cisco TelePresence ISDN Gateway

ISDN Gateway downspeeding support

Does the Cisco TelePresence ISDN GW support downspeeding?

Yes, if a channel (other than the primary channel) is dropped, the call should be renegotiated at a lower bit rate using less BRIs. If the primary channel drops, then the call will fail.

For downspeeding to work:

  • The endpoint must support it
  • The call must be a Bonded call

Note: A number of interoperability issues may occur between the Cisco TelePresence ISDN GW and an endpoint while downspeeding. Contact the technical support team to check if the Cisco TelePresence ISDN GW supports downspeeding with your endpoint.

This article applies to the following products:

  • Cisco TelePresence ISDN GW 3200 and 3241 / MSE 8310 and 8321 ISDN blades
