Recommended Cisco NX-OS Releases for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches
This document lists the recommended Cisco NX-OS software releases for use with Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switches for both new and existing deployments. These recommendations are general and should not replace environment specific design review efforts and should not override Advanced Services recommended releases if employed.

Maintenance releases off of the recommended release trains can become available for download before they are recommended in this document. If a maintenance release later than what is recommended below is available for download, review the "Resolved Caveats" section in the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Release Notes and Cisco NX-OS Security Advisories to determine if any resolved caveats are applicable to your deployment scenario and feature set and upgrade to the later release to benefit from the incremental fixes. |
General Recommendation for New and Existing Deployments
Cisco recommends that customers with new and existing Cisco Nexus 9000 Series deployments choose from the following recommended releases:

ND-ISSU upgrade to Release 10.3(4a) is not supported for Cisco Nexus 9300-FX3, Nexus 9300-GX and Nexus 9300-GX2 switches. For more information, see the Cisco Nexus 9000 and 3000 ISSU Support Matrix. |

If you need to deploy software features that are only supported in 10.4(x), use the latest available release of 10.4(x). |

For Nexus 9300 and 9500 platform switches running Cisco NX-OS 9.3(12) codes with IPv6 route scale (32K and above) deployments, the show tech-support command output can result in a process crash, and the device reloads. To resolve this issue, use the reload SMU for CSCwc83676. See the bug release note for further details. |

Existing Deployments That Use Software Earlier Than One of the Recommended Releases
To the extent possible, Cisco recommends upgrading to one of the Cisco NX-OS releases listed previously. If that is not possible, Cisco recommends that you review the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Release Notes for the earlier release and the Bug Search Tool to determine the impact of any open caveats.
