Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2) is a special release for the Cisco Nexus 3232C and 3264Q switches. This release supports the features in Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Release 7.0(3)I1(2) with a few exceptions (see the “Unsupported Features” section).
This release is not supported for the Cisco Nexus 3000 or 9000 Series switches, the Cisco Nexus 3164Q switch, or the Cisco Nexus 31128PQ switch.
This document describes the features, caveats, and limitations for Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2) software for use on the Cisco Nexus 3232C and 3264Q switches. Use this document in combination with documents listed in the “Related Documentation” section.

Cisco NX-OS software is a data center-class operating system designed for performance, resiliency, scalability, manageability, and programmability at its foundation. The Cisco NX-OS software provides a robust and comprehensive feature set that meets the requirements of virtualization and automation in mission-critical data center environments. The modular design of the Cisco NX-OS operating system makes zero-impact operations a reality and enables exceptional operational flexibility.
The Cisco Nexus 3232C and 3264Q switches use an enhanced version of Cisco NX-OS software with a single binary image, which simplifies image management.

Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2) supports the following new hardware features:
■ The Cisco Nexus 3232C switch (N3K-C3232C), which is a 1-RU fixed-port switch designed for top-of-rack (TOR) deployment in data centers. This switch has 32 QSFP28 ports. Each QSFP28 port can operate at 10, 25, 40, 50, and 100 Gbps, up to a maximum of 128 10-Gbps, 128 25-Gbps, or 64 50-Gbps ports.
The Cisco Nexus 3232C switch supports an SFP form-factor management port in addition to the traditional RJ-45 management port. Only one of the management ports (RJ-45 or SFP form factor) can be active at any time. The following transceiver types have been qualified for the SFP management port: SFP-GLC-T, SFP-GE-T, and SFP-GLC-SX-MMD.
■ The Cisco Nexus 3264Q switch (N3K-C3264Q), which is a 2-RU fixed-port switch designed for top-of-rack (TOR) or end-of-row (EOR) deployment in data centers. This switch has 64 enhanced QSFP (QSFP+) ports.
In addition to supporting most of the features in Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)|1(2), Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2) includes the following new software features for the Cisco Nexus 3232C and 3264Q switches:
Interfaces Features
■ Dynamic breakout support – The Cisco Nexus 3232C switch supports 40G and 100G interfaces. The dynamic breakout feature enables you to split the switch’s 40G ports into four 10G ports (breakout ports) or the switch’s 100G ports into four 25G ports or two 50G ports. (The Cisco Nexus 3264Q switch does not support breakout ports.)

QoS Features
■ Priority flow control (PFC) – Introduced CLI commands to reduce the overall PFC buffer reservation and improve PFC scalability.

Security Features
■ Control Plane Policing (CoPP) – Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2) uses two TCAM regions (CoPP and CoPP system) to implement CoPP. Both regions are carved by default and are mandatory.
■ TCAM regions – Introduced the following TCAM regions: ifacl-lite, racl-lite, vacl-lite, ifacl-udf, racl-udf, l3qos-intra-lite, qos-intra-lite, and vlan-qos-intra-lite.

System Management Features
■ ERSPAN enhancements:
¯ Adds the allow-pfc option to the source interface type rx command to allow the spanning of priority flow control (PFC) frames in the Rx direction.
¯ Adds egress interface information to the output of the show monitor session command.
¯ Adds the ability to span forward packet drops in the ingress pipeline.
¯ Adds support for user-defined field (UDF)-based ERSPAN to help analyze and isolate packet drops in the network.
¯ Adds the set-erspan-gre-proto and set-erspan-dscp actions to the ERSPAN ACL.
■ SPAN enhancements – Adds support for user-defined field (UDF)-based SPAN to help analyze and isolate packet drops in the network.

Other Features
■ Fast reload – The fast-reload command can be used to reboot the switch faster than during a cold reboot and to upgrade the Cisco NX-OS software.

Only one software image is required to load the Cisco NX-OS operating system. For installation instructions, see the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Software Upgrade and Downgrade Guide.
This section lists limitations related to Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2):
■ Layer 3 routed traffic for missing Layer 2 adjacency information is not flooded back onto VLAN members of ingress units when the source MAC address of routed traffic is a non-VDC MAC address. This limitation is for hardware flood traffic and can occur when the SVI has a user-configured MAC address.
■ The neighbor-down fib-accelerate command is supported in a BGP-only environment.
■ When a routed access control list (ACL) is applied to multiple switched virtual interfaces (SVIs) in the egress direction, TCAM resources are not shared.
■ When a VLAN ACL is applied to multiple VLANs, TCAM resources are not shared.
■ The hardware does not support range checks (Layer 4 operators) in egress TCAM. Because of this, ACL/QoS policies with Layer 4 operations-based classification need to be expanded to multiple entries in the egress TCAM. Egress TCAM space planning should take this limitation into account.
■ If the same QoS policy and ACL is applied on multiple interfaces, the label will be shared only when the QoS policy is applied with the no-stats option.
■ When multiple port VLAN mappings are configured on an interface during a rollback operation, the rollback feature fails.
This section lists the features that are supported in Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Release 7.0(3)I1(2) but not in Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2):
■ Automatic negotiation support for 25G and 50G ports on the Cisco Nexus 3232C switch

■ Private VLANs (PVLANs)
■ Q-in-Q VLAN tunnels
■ Resilient hashing
■ Switchport blocking
■ Symmetric hashing
■ TAP aggregation
■ Virtual Machine (VM) Tracker
■ Virtual port channel (vPC) peering between Cisco Nexus 3232C or 3264Q switches and Cisco Nexus 9300 Series switches or between Cisco Nexus 3232C or 3264Q switches and Cisco Nexus 3100 Series switches
■ VXLAN
This section lists the features that are not supported in both Cisco Nexus 9000 Series NX-OS Release 7.0(3)I1(2) and Cisco NX-OS Release 7.0(3)IX1(2):
■ DHCP subnet broadcast is not supported.
■ Due to a Poodle vulnerability, SSLv3 is no longer supported.
