Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform Software Release Information for VSBs
Table 1 shows the information about the various Virtual Service Blade (VSB) software included with the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform and the minimum required version of the software.
NoteVirtual Security Gateway VSBs are available in various form factors on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform. For more information on defining form factors, see the Virtual Security Gateway VSBs are available in various form factors on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform. For more information on defining form factors, see the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform Software Configuration Guide, Release 4.2(1)SP1(6.1).
Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform Weighting Matrix
Table 2 lists the available resources required on Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform, excluding the mandatory resources required for N1110 or N1010 Manager.
Table 2 Available Resources on Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform Excluding the Mandatory Resources Required for N1110/N1010 Manager
All Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platforms have 6 x 1G ports. A 1G port can either be a shared port or a dedicated passthrough port.
In the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform, you can use a maximum of 4 x 1G ports as dedicated passthrough ports, and a minimum of 2 x 1G ports for shared traffic. If no passthrough ports are utilized, you can use a maximum of to 6 x 1G ports for shared traffic.
For example, if 2 x 1G ports are allocated for dedicated passthrough, they cannot be used as shared 1G ports. Now the total available 1G shared ports is 4 (6-2 = 4).
NoteDual 10G 1225 VIC card shipping on Cisco Nexus 1110-X platform is not enabled. Dual 10G 1225 VIC card shipping on Cisco Nexus 1110-X platform is not enabled.
Table 3 lists the resource consumption per Virtual Service Blade in the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform. See the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform Software Configuration Guide, Release 4.2(1)SP1(6.1) for more information on virtual service blades.
NoteVSG (small) is not available on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform. VSG (small) is not available on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform.
NoteFlexible networking (Type 5) MUST be used for deploying the VXLAN GW VSB on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform. Flexible networking (Type 5) MUST be used for deploying the VXLAN GW VSB on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform.
You can add the supported VSBs to the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform, based on the resource consumption of each VSB as long as the VSBs total resource requirements do not exceed the available resource. See the following examples:

Required Versions of Cisco Host Upgrade Utility (HUU) and UCS Server Software
Table 7 shows the recommended Cisco Host Upgrade Utility (HUU) versions required to update CIMC, BIOS and other hardware components, and the UCS server software on the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform hardware.
The Cisco Host Upgrade Utility (HUU) is a tool that you can use to upgrade the firmware on one or multiple Cisco UCS C-Series servers. The HUU detects the current version of all required hardware components you have already installed, and guides you to upgrade them to the latest version.
NoteIt is a recommended Cisco best practice to upgrade the firmware using the Cisco Host Upgrade Utility. Failing to do so might result in network setup failure or system reboots. When using the HUU upgrade menu, choose the option to upgrade the CIMC, BIOS, and all other components of the hardware. For detailed information about upgrading to the latest firmware release, see the It is a recommended Cisco best practice to upgrade the firmware using the Cisco Host Upgrade Utility. Failing to do so might result in network setup failure or system reboots. When using the HUU upgrade menu, choose the option to upgrade the CIMC, BIOS, and all other components of the hardware. For detailed information about upgrading to the latest firmware release, see the Cisco Nexus Cloud Services Platform Software Installation and Upgrade Guide, Release 4.2(1)SP1(6.1).
