Exceptions may be present in the documentation due to language that is hardcoded in the user interfaces of the product software, language used based on RFP documentation, or language that is used by a referenced third-party product. This document explains how to install Cisco Security Management Suite (Security Manager) in a high availability (HA) or disaster recovery (DR) environment. The Security Manager HA/DR solution is based on Symantec's Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability solutions.
The primary audience for this guide is system administrators who are responsible for installing and managing the HA/DR solutions. This guide assumes that you are familiar with the topics in Table 1.
Because the Security Manager HA/DR solution utilizes Symantec's Veritas Storage Foundation and High Availability Solutions for Windows, we highly recommend the following Symantec courses for a local redundancy solution:
•Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows
•Veritas Cluster Server for Windows
For a geographically redundant solution, the following additional courses are highly recommended:
•Veritas Volume Replicator for Windows
•Disaster Recovery Using Veritas Volume Replicator and Global Cluster Option for Windows
