CTX Filler Card Description

Warning Blank faceplates and cover panels serve three important functions: they prevent exposure to hazardous voltages and currents inside the chassis; they contain electromagnetic interference (EMI) that might disrupt other equipment; and they direct the flow of cooling air through the chassis. Do not operate the system unless all cards, faceplates, front covers, and rear covers are in place. Statement 1029

Caution Do not operate the ONS 15310-MA shelf assembly unless a card is plugged into each card slot.

The CTX FILLER card is a printed circuit board (PCB) with a blank faceplate and two connectors that, when the card is installed, plug into receptacles at the back of the slot. CTC, the ONS 15310-MA GUI, detects when a CTX FILLER card is plugged in and displays it in node view.

Figure 1 shows the CTX FILLER card faceplate for the ONS 15310-MA. The CTX FILLER card is installed in empty CTX2500 slots (Slots 3 or 4).

Caution Do not attempt to install the CTX FILLER card in a traffic card slot (Slots 1, 2, 5, and 6 in the ONS 15310-MA, and the expansion card slot in the ONS 15310-CL). Only 15310-EXP-FILLER cards should be installed in the traffic card slots.
