Table Conventions

Table A-2 lists the types of tables provided for each object in this appendix.

Table A-2 Table Types

Table
Description

Object - Characteristics

The object characteristics table lists the class name, class label, superclass, and database tables for the object.

Object - Attributes

The object attributes table provides information about each attribute, including the GUI label, FTI name, description, range of acceptable values, and default values. For more information about this table type, see Table A-3.

Object - Aliases

The object aliases table provides information about attributes that are aliases for other attributes. Aliases are provided to allow either attribute of an AZ pair to be referenced by a single name regardless of whether it is at the A endpoint or at the Z endpoint. For more information about aliases, see "Attribute Description" in Table A-3.

Table A-3 describes the table conventions that are used in the object attribute tables. Within each object attribute table, attributes are sorted alphabetically by FTI name.

Table A-3 Conventions Used In Object Attribute Tables

Convention
Description

Attribute Name

The GUI label for each attribute (if applicable) is shown in double quotes. If the attribute does not have a GUI label, only the double quotes appear. The FTI name for each attribute appears in square brackets after the GUI label, in the format "GUI Label" [fti_name].

For example:

"Name" [srname]

Attribute Description

Defines the attribute. Some attributes contain restrictions or dependencies that are outside the scope of the table conventions. In this case, the restriction or dependency is included with the attribute description or within a footnote.

An attribute that is a pointer to another object is shown with the relation type and classname.

For example:

" " [sra_tp]

Relation of Type OPTIONAL, Relation Class Name = C4lpLport

For an attribute that has aliases, the FTI names for the aliases are included in the description, along with the FTI names of the attributes at the other endpoint.

For example:

"VCI" [raa_vci]

Alias: ralocalvci (other param: raz_vci)

Alias: raremotevci (other param: raz_vci)

means that ralocalvci and raremotevci can be used as an alias for either raa_vci or raz_vci.

In this case, the entry for the other endpoint is:

"VCI" [raz_vci]

Alias: ralocalvci (other param: raa_vci)

Alias: raremotevci (other param: raa_vci)

Attribute Flags

The attribute flags describe the attribute behaviour as follows:

Create: O

The attribute is optional upon creation.

Create: R

This attribute is required upon creation.

Create: P

This attribute is prohibited upon creation.

Modify: O

This attribute is optional upon modification.

Modify: R

This attribute is required upon modification.

Modify: P

This attribute is prohibited from modification.

Profiled

This attribute can be profiled.

Persistent

This attribute is stored in the database (rather than existing only in memory).

Acceptable Values

This column indicates the acceptable value(s) for each attribute.

Text (n)

This attribute requires a text string containing as many as n characters.

integer_1 - integer_2

This attribute requires a numerical value ranging from integer1 through integer2.

value_1 | value_2 | value_n

This attribute requires one of the enumerated values listed (value_1 or value_2 or value_n).

BOOLEAN

Default

This column indicates the default value (if applicable) for each attribute. Text default values are shown in double quotes. For a text attribute that does not have a default value, only the double quotes appear.

Network

Object Name: C2ntNetwork

OAF:C2ntNetwork.oaf

Network objects are classes of managed objects that are collections of interconnected telecommunications and management objects (logical and physical) capable of exchanging information. Networks can be nested within other (larger) networks.

A network object is created to represent an actual network in the Cisco Provisioning Center database. A network object is required to perform an upload of network elements.

Node

Object Name: C2ndNode

OAF:C2ndNode.oaf

Node objects are classes of managed objects representing telecommunications equipment or TMN entities within the telecommunications network that perform managed element functions (i.e., they provide support and/or Services to the subscriber). Nodes communicate with the manager over one or more management interfaces for the purposes of being provisioned.

A node object is created to represent an actual Cisco 6260/6160/6130 DSLAM in the Cisco Provisioning Center database. This object is required to perform an upload of network elements.

DSL Template

Object Name: C2dsDSLTemplate

OAF: C2dsDSLTemplate.oaf

DSL templates are profiles that define attributes for DSL physical ports. The Cisco NI-2 DSLAM uses templates to configure DSL physical ports rather than configuring them directly (direct configuration of port parameters is not allowed). These templates are uploaded during fabric element upload and can be associated with more than one DSL physical port. When a profile is modified in the Cisco NI-2 DSLAM, the modification affects all ports using the profile.

ATM Logical Port

Object Name: C2alATMLogicalPort

OAF:C2alATMLogicalPort.oaf

The logical port object class is a layer 2 termination point that represents a communication protocol associate with a physical port. Logical ports terminate layer 2 trails and network connections. Logical ports have an associated bandwidth that is allocated to the subnetwork connections that terminate at the logical port.

An ATM logical port object represents a logical port on a Cisco 6260/6160/6130 NI-2 network interface card or line card. Only line card logical ports can be provisioned by Cisco Provisioning Center. The set of attributes modelled is intended to allow ILMI to be enabled and configured for a PVC only environment (no SVCs).

"Channel Autoselection" [ds0select]

The ds0select is a computed attribute, used to auto select/de-select all DS0 channels on the logical port. It can take one of the following values:

Select All—Find the timeslots that are available in the associated physical port and assign all of them to the logical port. The channel map of the logical port (srchanmap) will be updated to reflect that the available physical port timeslots are assigned to this logical port. All of the timeslots in the physical port will be updated as "not available". Individual timeslots that are changed in the logical port within the same save operation will not be overwritten by this operation.

Deselect All—Find the timeslots that are assigned to the logical port and un-assign them. The channel map (srchanmap) of the logical port will be updated to reflect that all the timeslots are unassigned. The corresponding timeslots in the associated physical port of the logical port will be updated as available. Individual timeslots changed in the same logical port within the same save operation will not be overwritten by this operation.

None—No change will be made to the channel map of the logical port.

ATM-ATM Cross Connection

Object Name: C2axATMCC

OAF:C2axATMCC.oaf

An ATM cross connect represents a VP or VC cross connect within an ATM switching node. When you create a PVC, if both endpoints of the PVC are in the same node then the Equipment Module is allowed to create either a PVC or a PVC cross connection. These two classes are treated interchangeably by Cisco Provisioning Center. The ATM cross connect object class models all the attributes necessary to provision a PVC.

Currently, ATM VP uploading and provisioning are not supported.

"Interworking Type" [rfinterworking]

Network interworking (N_IW) transports Frame Relay packets across an intermediate ATM network to another Frame Relay network. The frames are encapsulated into ATM cells.

Service interworking (S_IW) adapts Frame relay packets into ATM cells for transmission onto an ATM network. After the ATM cells enter the network, the network can send them to ATM-attached devices or Frame Relay devices.
