Overview of Cisco Prime Collaboration Analytics

Overview of Cisco Prime Collaboration Analytics

Prime Collaboration Analytics is installed with the Prime Collaboration Assurance application, by default. You can disable Analytics or wait for Analytics evaluation license to expire. However, the only exception is for very large OVA (150 K) installation, where you can either install Prime Collaboration Assurance only or Prime Collaboration Assurance with Prime Collaboration Analytics.

For details on installation and system requirements, see Cisco Prime Collaboration 10.5 Quick Start Guide.

Prime Collaboration Analytics helps you to identify the traffic trend, technology adoption trend, over-and-under-utilized resources, and device resource usages in your network. You can also track intermittent and recurring network issues and address service quality issues using the Prime Collaboration Analytics Dashboards.

For a list of new features available in this release, see What's new for Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance Advanced, 10.5 in the Cisco Prime Collaboration Assurance Advanced, 10.5.

You can launch the following dashboards from the Analytics tab:

Prime Collaboration Analytics Licensing

Prime Collaboration Analytics license must be applied only after deploying the Prime Collaboration Assurance license.

When you switch over from the standard to the advanced mode in Prime Collaboration Assurance, the Prime Collaboration Analytics is installed in the evaluation mode. To access Prime Collaboration Analytics dashboards after the evaluation mode (60 days), you need to purchase Prime Collaboration Analytics license. We recommend that you purchase the same scale license as that for Prime Collaboration Assurance. You can continue to access Prime Collaboration Analytics in evaluation mode even after you add a license for Prime Collaboration Assurance in the advanced mode.

Prime Collaboration Analytics licensing should be greater than or equal to the sum of the total assurance count. For example, if the assurance license count is 50 for each of the above listed license categories, the license count in analytics must be greater than or equal to 200.

Note

In evaluation mode, the Prime Collaboration Analytics license will be the same as that of Prime Collaboration Assurance.

NFR license for Prime Collaboration Analytics can be purchased only after the purchase of Prime Collaboration Assurance license.

Understand the endpoint usage to validate investments made so far and to make future investment decisions.
  • Call Distribution by Endpoint Model
  • Call Distribution by Endpoint Types
Count the number of endpoints that are heavily or lightly used.

Technology Usage

Identify the least used endpoints to effectively plan and allocate resources across an organization.

Least Used Endpoint Types

Find the top N directory numbers sorted by the most number of calls placed or by total duration of all calls placed.

Top N Callers

Find the top N directory numbers receiving the most number of calls or to find the top N directory numbers having the most call minutes.

Top N Dialed Numbers

Find the locations with most number of incoming and outgoing OffNet calls.

Top N OffNet Traffic Locations

Identify the top N locations from which the highest number of calls were placed or received.

Top N Call Traffic Locations

Understand the trend of various types of calls between sites, locations, endpoints, clusters, or device pools.

Call Traffic Analysis

Track the utilization of TelePresence conferencing devices to optimize their usage across the organization.

Conferencing Devices Video Utilized

Evaluate the bandwidth allocated to each location by looking at the Call Admission Control (CAC) bandwidth usage for locations with the most number of failed calls.

Location CAC Bandwidth Utilization

Evaluate and optimize trunk and route group utilization across the organization.
  • Trunk Utilization
  • Route Group Utilization
Decide on the capacity (lines) after measuring trunks and route group Average Bouncing Busy Hour (ABBH) traffic.
