These release notes provide an overview of the release and describe how to access bugs for Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler 6.2.1.

Introduction

Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler (TES) is an automation platform for cross-application and cross-platform operational workloads, batch job scheduling, and data integration throughput. Cisco TES can easily configure and run scheduled workloads and event-based business processes, integrate the commercial and custom applications these processes use, and determine which tasks to run, as well as where and when to run them, without human intervention. In addition, Cisco TES can learn new scripting languages or customize existing tools and provide a single view and point of control over all business processes and the jobs they comprise.

New Features and Enhancements

Table 1-1 describes changes and enhancements in TES 6.2.1.

Installation Enhancements
Comprehensive Java Client Version	TES 6.2.1 offers a full version of Java Client implemented with all adapters along with business views functionality. The Java Client can be installed as a standalone application or can be launched through a URL from the TES Master.
Upgrade support from 5.3.1 to 6.2.1 and 6.x to 6.2.1	The following migration patterns are supported for TES: 1) 5.3.1 to 6.2.1 2) 6.x to 6.2.1
Derby cache deprecation	TES 6.2.1 CM installer no longer supports Derby as Database as it is not recommended for production.
OSA_CLASS support in JDE adapter	TES 6.2.1 JDE Adapter is enhanced to allow the user to specify the OSA_CLASS as part of the job definition to promote JDE integration with third part systems.
Multi-Org or multiple organization access (MOAC) support in OracleApps Adapter	TES 6.2.1 supports Multi-Org access which allows execution of job across multiple operating units from a single application responsibility.
Currency Updates in TES 6.2.1
Oracle 12c DB and Adapter support	TES 6.2.1 is enhanced to support Oracle 12c as the backend database for TES Master and Client Manager. TES 6.2.1 Oracle Adapter supports Oracle 12c as DB. TES 6.2.1 JDBC Adapter supports Oracle 12c as DB.
MS SQL Server 2012 Always-On support	TES 6.2.1 MSSQL Adapter supports MS SQL Server 2012 Always-On. TES 6.2.1 JDBC Adapter supports MS SQL Server 2012 Always-On.
Windows Data Center Edition Support	TES 6.2.1 currently supports Windows Server 2012 Data Center Edition for TEST Master, Client Manager and Agent.
AD 2012	TES 6.2.1 supports Microsoft AD 2012 for authentication.

Open Caveats

This section lists the caveats open in this release.

Caveat ID	Description
CSCuo86541	Connections shown in CM Web Client are web Client sessions only, and Java Client shows its own sessions. If a session needs termination, the respective Client must be used. Use counts from both Java Client and CM Web Client to find totals and to terminate sessions, if required.

Using the Bug Search

Use the Bug Search tool to search for a specific caveat or to search for all caveats in a release.

Perform the following steps to search for a caveat.

Step 1 Go to http://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch

Step 2 At the Log In screen, enter your registered Cisco.com username and password; then, click Log In . The Bug Search page opens.

NoteIf you do not have a Cisco.com username and password, you can register for them athttp://tools.cisco.com/RPF/register/register.do.

Step 3 To search for a specific caveat, enter the bug ID in the Search For field and press Enter .

Step 4 To search for caveat in the current release:

a. Click the Select from list link.

The Select Product page is displayed.

b. Choose Cloud and Systems Management > Datacenter Automation > Workload Automation > Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler > Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler 6.2.

c. Click OK.

d. When the search results are displayed, use the filter tools to find the types of caveat you are looking for. You can search for caveats by status, severity, modified date, and so forth.

Filter Settings for Java Client and Web Client

Ensure the following filter settings to obtain the total count of caveats in Java Client and Web Client.

• Java Client filters settings are persisted. If you do not see what you expect, reset the filters to default.
• For performance reasons, message log filters in Java Client work slightly different from Web Client. Familiarize yourself with the filter usage.
• Java Client Business view functionality has richer preferences modeled after 5.3.x business views.
