In addition to the information provided by earlier versions, MOS is available for Service Monitor to use in determining whether a threshold has been violated and, if so, send a trap. Other data, such as concealment ratio and severely concealed seconds, is also available for inclusion on reports and in traps.

MOS is calculated using the Cisco Voice Transmission Quality (CVTQ) algorithm on supported phones (see Table 3) and endpoints (see Table 4). To make CVTQ data available from supported phones and endpoints, ensure that you have applied any required patches to Unified Communications Manager.

Table 3 lists the Cisco Unified IP phone models that support the CVTQ algorithm in SCCP and—in most cases—SIP mode.

To enable voice quality statistics on the voice gateway, use this command:

mgcp voice-quality-stat all

Note A warning message might be displayed advising g that "enable voice stats might impact performance".

The SvcMonAB2_102.img binary image file is available on the Service Monitor server in the NMSROOT\ImageDir folder.

Note NMSROOT is the directory in which Service Monitor was installed. The default value for NMSROOT is C:\Program Files\CSCOpx.

Caution Installing binary image files other than SvcMonAB2_102.img can cause severe problems.

Cisco recommends using NAM 4.1 or 4.2.

If using NAM 4.0.:

You will see the problem CSCsy88897, a stream correlation report from the NAM appliance shows duplicate time stamps. CSCsy88897 is resolved in NAM 4.1; however, there is no workaround for it in NAM 4.0.

You must install the NAM software 4.0.1 patch from Cisco.com.

If a NAM is configured as an HTTP secure server, you must apply the NAM crypto patch to enable Service Monitor to access the NAM. To download the patch, log in to your account on Cisco.com and go to this URL:

Note The NAM crypto patch is available for NAM 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2.
