I.2  CTM Server Error Messages

CTM server error messages appear in the Error Log and have the following syntax:

Date time: filename(line-number): module-severity-error-ID: error-message

Example:

01/01/05 09:56:01 PM: cliroutines.c(80): CONFIG-DEBUG-1201: Unknown_ETHERNET_PORT 0

The following error messages are categorized by severity (critical, major, minor, and debug) and are listed in ascending numeric order within each category.

not supported by the running agent version.

Recommended Action    The current TL1 agent version does not support the software download. The user cannot download a new agent software version through CTM. Use the following procedure to correct the error:

Step 1 Open an FTP connection between the TFTP boot server and the NE.

Step 2 Enter the STDBY directory of the NE.

Step 3 From the TFTP server directory containing the catalog.txt file, manually transfer the catalog.txt file and all files listed in the catalog.txt file.

Flash read/write problem.

Recommended Action    The agent version transfer from the master Control and Monitoring Processor (CMP) to the slave CMP has failed. Use the following procedure to correct the error:

Step 1 Connect to the NE through a Telnet connection.

Step 2 Swap the files contained in the STDBY directory and ACTIVE directory.

Step 3 Reset the NE.

Note The effect of this operation is different from that of a revert operation. In this operation, swapping the files of the STDBY and ACTIVE directories causes each subsequent NE reset operation to execute the software that was previously contained in the STDBY directory, which is now contained in the ACTIVE directory. In the revert operation, the default agent version is not changed.

Error Message    EID-2207: Software revert operation failed on NE ID because the standby
agent version is corrupted.

Recommended Action    The standby agent version is corrupted. Use the following procedure to correct the error:

Step 1 Execute a new download operation to replace the current standby agent version with the valid one.

Step 2 Execute the revert operation again; then, verify that the new downloaded version works correctly.

Recommended Action    The reason for the failure of the software commit operation is unknown. Retry the commit operation.

Error Message    EID-2209: Software commit operation failed on NE ID because it is not
supported by the running agent version.

Recommended Action    The current TL1 Agent version does not support the commit operation. The user cannot make the active agent version the current standby agent version in CTM. Use the following procedure to correct the error:

Step 1 Connect to the NE through a Telnet connection.

Step 2 Swap the files contained in the STDBY directory and ACTIVE directory.

Step 3 Reset the NE.

Error Message    EID-2210: Software commit operation failed on NE ID because the standby
agent version is corrupted.

Recommended Action    The standby agent version is corrupted. Use the following procedure to correct the error:

Step 1 Execute a new download operation to replace the current standby agent version with the valid one.

Error Message    EID-2213: NE User Management failed - Limit of ten TL1 user profiles
definition has been reached on the NE ID.

Recommended Action    There are already ten TL1 users configured on the NE. Use the following procedure to correct the error:

Step 1 Open the NE User Access Administration table.

Step 2 Delete one TL1 user.

Step 3 Retry the previous failed operation.

Error Message    EID-2214: NE User Management failed - Selected user doesn't exist on
NE ID.

Recommended Action    No action.

Error Message    EID-2217: NE User Management failed - Duplicated username for NE ID.
