ISG supports Layer 2 and Layer 3 service selection and provides selective routing of IP packets to destination networks on a per-subscriber basis. ISG has an interface with web dashboard (SESM), which enables users to select the services they are interested in, or push the policies for the session. RADIUS protocol is used for communication between ISG and SESM. The RADIUS packet sent by SESM to ISG has defined command codes.

Note Configuration information is included in the Cisco IOS ISG RADIUS Interface Guide, Release 12.2SB, at the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2sb/isg/coa/guide/isg_ig.html
