mpls traffic-eng multicast-intact Command


The mpls traffic-eng multicast-intact command was introduced to enable interoperability between Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) traffic engineering. See the command reference page for more details.

mpls traffic-eng multicast-intact

To configure a router running Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) or Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) so that Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) traffic engineering (TE) interoperate, use the mpls traffic-eng multicast-intact command in router configuration mode. To disable interoperability between PIM and MPLS-TE, use the no form of this command.

Usage Guidelines

The mpls traffic-eng multicast-intact command allows PIM to use the native hop-by-hop neighbors even though the unicast routing is using MPLS TE tunnels. The mpls traffic-eng multicast-intact command can only be used with "autoroute announce" functionality.
