The AdminConfig.xml file does not perform any actions on its own. It
just acts as the answer file for the VMO. It prepopulates the responses to the
VMO initialization wizard. In order for the AdminConfig.xml file to work
properly, you must link the applicable IMAP account or Exchange account with
the voicemail server. This ensures that messages composed using ViewMail for
Outlook are sent to the voicemail server.
Complete these steps for each user workstation:
Open the AdminConfig.xml file from
C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\ViewMail for
Outlook (by default, ViewMail for Outlook files are installed
in this directory).
The AdminConfig.xml file has two main sections: the
Configurations section and the Users optional
In this example, for the Outlook profile which is already associated
with an Exchange server, you need to add this line in the
<Configuration server="voicemail server name" type="Exchange Server Name to
which the user is hooked."/>
Remember, in this example no user is specified.
If you click Initialize Cisco ViewMail, you can see
the wizard by skipping the Voicemail Server Name that goes to the Username
Click Back in order to see that the
Voicemail Server Name has populated from the AutoConfig.xml
Similarly, in this example, which is for an IMAP account in the users
section, we will give the <user id ="Administrator"
Now, when you open the Initialize Cisco ViewMail window, you can find
the username and phone number you entered earlier has been pre-populated in the
Username and the Phone Number fields.
