Solution

This issue of failed backup can happen when the path of the temporary folder in the Gateway System Integrity Manager (SIM) configuration is wrong or if the Gateway SIM transfer destination field was left blank, which leaves the Gateway SIM with no path/folder with which to place the backup files. The issue occurs mainly because the path of the temporary folder in the Gateway SIM tab points to <drive>:\Cisco Systems\MeetingPlace Backup\Backup instead of <drive>:\Cisco Systems\MeetingPlace Backup\Temp.

Perform these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Stop all MeetingPlace services.

  2. Open the Gateway SIM Configuration page, and delete the unit.

  3. Add the unit back again with the Transfer Destination set to the backup gateway temporary folder, for instance, E:\Cisco Systems\MeetingPlace Backup\Temp.

  4. Restart all MeetingPlace services.
