Introduction

This document describes how to back up and restore in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000.

Prerequisites

Requirements

Cisco recommends that you have knowledge of Cisco CUCM Business Edition 3000.

Components Used

The information in this document is based on these software and hardware versions:

  • Cisco CUCM Business Edition 3000 that runs on Media Convergence Server (MCS) 7890 server

  • SFTP server

  • USB drive

The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.

Procedures

Backup

Complete these steps in order to back up in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000:

  1. Open the Cisco Business Edition 3000 Administrative Interface, and navigate to Maintainence > Backup.

  2. On the Backup page, choose the location to which the backup file should be saved. You can save the backup file to either a storage device connected to the system USB port or an SFTP server.

    • In order to back up to a storage device connected to the system USB port, click the Storage device connected to system USB port radio button, and enter the location in which you would like to save the file.

    • In order to back up to an SFTP server, click the SFTP server radio button, enter the server IP address, enter a username and password, and enter the location in which you would like to save the backup file.

  3. Click Run Backup.

    Once you click the Run Backup button, the Backup Status dialog box appears and displays the progress of your backup. When the backup completes, the dialog box appears as follows:

Restore

Complete these steps in order to restore in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000: .

  1. In the Cisco Business Edition 3000 Administrative Interface, navigate to Maintainence > Restore.

  2. On the Restore page, choose the location from which the backup file should be restored.

    • In order to back up from a storage device connected to the system USB port, click the Storage device connected to system USB port radio button, and enter the location of the backup file.

    • In order to restore from an SFTP server, click the SFTP server radio button, enter the server IP address, enter a username and password, and enter the location of the backup file.

  3. Click Run Restore.

    Once you click the Run Restore button, the Restart Required dialog box appears.

  4. Click Continue in order to allow the system to restart after the restore is complete.

    The Restore Status dialog box appears and displays the progress of the restore.

    After the Restore is complete, the System Reboot dialog box appears.

  5. Click OK to continue.

    The System Restarting dialog box appears.

  6. Refresh your browser after a few minutes in order to reconnect.

Once the system has rebooted, the restore is complete, and your system will now be restored from your backup.
