Unity Connection Unexpectedly Marks Messages as Read

Introduction

This document describes a problem encountered where the Web Inbox unexpectedly marks a message as read when the message has not yet been viewed in Cisco Unity Connection (UC) Version 9.x.

Problem

An email message is marked as read before the message is touched.

This problem occurs when you use the Web Inbox in order to check messages: https:<IP Unity Connection>/inbox. When you check your new messages, some messages are marked as read before they are viewed.

Solution

This issue occurs when there are at least three new messages. When you use the Web Inbox to check two of the messages, the third message automatically becomes marked as read.

This is a known defect that is addressed by Cisco bug ID CSCui32980.
