Introduction

This article is one in a series to assist in the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Cisco Small Business products (formerly Linksys Business Series).

Q. How do I configure my WVC200 with DDNS service using DynDNS?

A.

This article will explain the steps needed to setup DDNS Service using DynDNS with WVC200. Follow the instructions below to start the configuration process.

 

Step 1:
Go to the camera web based setup page.

 

Note: For instructions on accessing the camera's web-based setup page, see the User Guide for your camera.

 

Step 2:
Select Setup and then select DDNS.

 

 

Step 3:
Check the Enable DDNS box and select DynDNS from the Service Provider drop down menu.
 

 

Step 4:
Click on the Web Site button. If your camera does not have a Web Site button, click here.

 

 

Step 5:
When the DynDNS web page appears, select Services.

 


Step 6:
Then click Dynamic DNS.

 

 

Step 7:
Next, click on the Get Started button.

 

 

Step 8:
A security warning window will appear then click OK.

 


Step 9:
When the login page appears, click on Create one now to create a new account.

 

 

Step 10:
Next, fill in all the required information and at the bottom of the page click the Create account button.

 


Step 11:
Once your account is created, DynDNS authenticates your account. A link will be emailed to sign into your DynDNS account.

 

Step 12:
Check your email inbox for the email sent by DynDNS.

 

Step 13:
Then open the email and click on the provided link.

 

 

Step 14:
A security warning window will appear then click OK.

 

 

Step 15:
Login using the username and password that you just created. Click Create a Dynamic DNS host within our domains.

 


Step 16:
Next, click on the Get Started button.

 

 

Step 17:
Choose the latter part of your host name from the Hostname dropdown menu.

 

 

Step 18:
Enter the first part of the name of your host name according to your preference then click on the Create Host button.

 

 

Step 19:
Your complete host name is displayed on the page once it is created.

 


Step 20:
Enter that Host Name, the Account user name, and the Password and click the Apply button.

 

 

Step 21:
Now you can connect to your camera using the host name and any port number that you have configured on your router for port forwarding.
