Question

How should I monitor Proxy CPU usage on my WSA appliance using SNMP?

Environment

Any Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) deployment running 7.5.x or later.

Starting on AsyncOS for Web 7.5.0, we have SNMP MIB OID variables that provide the overall system CPU utilization and the Proxy CPU utilization. The Proxy CPU utilization can be obtained directly using the OID variable cacheCpuUsage. This OID can be queried directly and will provide the percentage of CPU that is being used by the Proxy component.
