Problem
The SMC shows an error on SMC Ribbon despite showing a properly configured connection to the Secure X under the Secure X settings (Secure X and SSE)
Solution
Due to the additional privileges needed to utilize the ribbon, API credentials must be regenerated with the expanded scopes selected and applied to the SMC.
Step 1. Navigate to https://visibility.amp.cisco.com/settings/apiClients
Step 2. Log in with the credentials you use to login to CTR/Secure X if prompted
Step 3. Click Generate API Client
Step 4. Enter the required information in the corresponding fields:
Client Name: Any Descriptive Name
Scopes: All Scopes are required
Description: Optional details
Step 5. Click Add New Client
Step 6. Enter the generated Client API ID and Key to the SMC Secure X Settings Page
https://<SMC FQDN>/sw-smc/sw-configuration-ctr
Step 7. Navigate to the SMC Dashboard. The Secure X Dashboard functions as expected.
