Introduction

This document describes what happens when ISQ retention time is changed at Cisco Email Security Appliance.

Background Information

Spam Quarantine will hold messages for a configurable retention time period. If the retention period is reduced, all messages older than the new period will be purged the next time the purger runs. This is different than the System Quarantines. The retention period for messages in the System quarantines is set at the time the message is loaded into the quarantine. Changes to the retention period only affect new messages sent to System Quarantines.
