Problem Description

The Cisco TelePresence Precision 40 Camera, which is also used in the Cisco TelePresence MX200 G2 and Cisco TelePresence MX300 G2 solutions, might have camera focus issues when the camera is in self-view mode or in a video call.

In these situations, the camera auto-focus might fail and the camera image might look blurry.

The issue is not corrected when you move the camera in a different direction.

Background

The camera focus issue has been observed on older TC7, CE8, or CE9 software versions.

Problem Symptom

In self-view mode or in a video call, the camera auto-focus might fail to recover, and the camera image might look blurry.

Workaround/Solution

Set the SX20 Codec, MX200 G2, or MX300 G2 into standby mode and then wake up the device again, or restart the device. These methods might temporarily resolve the camera focus issue.

Cisco recommends that you upgrade the affected device to the latest software version:

For TC7: A release is forthcoming.
For CE8: Software version CE8.3.5 or newer should resolve this known software issue.
For CE9: Software version CE9.2.4 or newer should resolve this known software issue.
