Problem Description

An issue has been identified between Cisco E-Mail Integration Manager (EIM) and Web Interaction Manager (WIM) Release 9.0(2) and Finesse Releases 10.0 and 10.5. Specifically, the gadget provided with EIM/WIM Release 9.0(2) for use within Finesse Release 10.x.

Within Finesse via the EIM/WIM gadget, the EIM/WIM user interface fails to produce Username/Password entry options within Finesse Release 10. The logo and butterfly show, but not the input areas. However, Finesse Release 9.x with the EIM/WIM Release 9.0(x) gadget installed that runs IE9 in 'Compatibility Mode' works properly and displays input fields.

Background

The CIM Release 9.0(2) login page does not display correctly.

Finesse Release 10.0 Launched in Internet Explorer 9 Compatibility Mode

The CIM Release 9.0(2) login page displays with an alert message at the top of the window.

Problem Symptoms

Earlier releases of Finesse would display a banner if it detected the IE9 browser running with compatibility mode turned ON. The banner stated that Finesse does not support compatibility mode and it should be turned off. Since EIM/WIM gadgets work only in IE9 with compatibility mode to IE8 standard, this banner is removed from the agent and supervisor desktop. Hence when Finesse detects the underlying browser to be IE9 with compatibility mode turned ON, it renders the desktop in IE8 standard.
