UC - DATABASE INFORMIX - 7.0.1

Problem Description

Cisco Unity Connection voicemail systems running 7.0.1 can experience a non operational state under the following condition:

DynDb:tbl_DbEventQ fills up - The dyn db exceeded it's limit.

Background

This issue exists only in Cisco Unity Connection Release 7.0.1.

Problem Symptom

  • Users may hear the failsafe message.
  • Messages can not be deleted. They are deleted but still exist.
  • The MWI does not work. If you manually try to reset it, you receive this error:

ISAM error: no free disk space could not reset message waiting indicators.

To verify whether the issue is currently occurring and needs immediate TAC assistance, perform these actions:

  • Run command: run cuc dbquery unitydyndb select * from vw_tableinformation
  • Under the column titled dbspacepagesfree, any value close to zero could mean a potential problem.

  • Run command: show cuc dbserver disk
  • This returns a list of system partitions. In the column titled Free MB, any value close to zero could mean a potential problem.

Important Note: If the dbspacepagesfree, Free MB for dyn and /var/opt/cisco/connection/db/dyn_dbs are all valued at zero, you are experiencing this issue. Call Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for assistance.
