Problem Description

The 230VAC external power supplies (CIVS-EDTFM-230=) shipping for the standalone decoder all have the polarity reversed on the DC connector.

Background

The 230VAC external power supplies (CIVS-EDTFM-230=) shipping for the standalone decoder all have the polarity reversed on the DC connector. This was discovered in the course of conducting training.

Problem Symptoms

The decoders initially fail to power up.

Workaround/Solution

Workaround:

Removing the connectors and reversing the power leads, the power supply will function normally.

Note: Currently the faulty wired devices have the white cable lettering on the negative contact. We should have the positive contact with the white lettering.

Solution:

Affected customers can RMA per this Field Notice.
